What to do in case of low signal strength?

Everyone among us would have ever faced a slow signal strength issue. The two most common issues that users usually face when they have a really low signal is the phone calls get either chopped off or you get disconnected and for some users the issue might be that their data connection just keeps disconnecting then and now in either case it is going to be a really frustrating experience. Now I also wanted to mention that there are certain tutorials online that show you that you just install an app on your phone and suddenly your signal strength will go up now these are actually just fake apps that do not work there are two ways you can measure signal strength on your phone one is by referring to the signal bar on your phone and the second way is by installing an app like I have done on my phone in case you're interested it’s called signal strength and it's available for free on the Google Play Store and basically what the app does is that it gives you a score of your network that you are connected to and there are some additional features as well like doing a speed test if you want to test out your data but the interesting one is the cells and it shows you the signal strength there as well and this one is in dBm which is the value that you refer for your actual signal strength.

The first thing you can try out to increase signal strength is by removing any kind of obstruction that you have for the signal to get to your phone it is not possible for you to remove walls but what you can actually try out is by removing any phone case that you have on your phone for some users it might be a battery case as well and you can try out if your phone case removal makes any kind of difference on your phone the performance for the improvement in signal strength will vary depending on what kind of material the phone case is made out of as to what I have read usually users who have a metal case notice an improvement in signal strength when they remove their phone case.

The second thing you can try out is in your SIM card settings there is an option called preferred network types and in case you have a new phone you might even have 5G option there as well but you can always try out on switching to 3G or 2G network and see if you get any kind of signal using those technologies just make a note that if you're trying to use data services 2G might not be the ideal option because data services go really slow on it my recommendation in case you are looking just for data it might be 3G or the LTE option which is 4G so just try to switch back and forth and see which one gives you a better signal.

And also the other metric would be of course performance if you're not having any kind of voice quality issues anymore and the other network would be the ideal option for you the third thing you should make sure is that under mobile networks the option to automatically select network is turned to on this can be beneficial especially if you're traveling in a different region and your network provider has a partnership with another service provider to provide your service in that area in case these steps mentioned before do not work out for you what you should be looking is if your phone actually supports the network well or not and this step is quite easy what you need to do is search for the Network name followed by bands on Google.

It shows me what bands the service works on so its band 4 band 2 band 7 and then it has the frequencies listed as well now I know what bands the service works on and now what I'll do is I have done another search for looking over what bands my phone works on as well so I search in for GSM arena which is a website where I can see specifications for my phone followed by brand off my phone and this specific model it is and then I'm going to click on the first link and scroll down to network and here I can see what bands are supported by my phone.

I can compare it against the network now I mainly rely on 3G and4G bands but you should make sure that the latest technology is covered hundred percent for your phone for the network that you're using in case your phone does not support the network 100% there are two options for you either you buy a new phone or you switch your network if your phone supports you network 100%then the option for you might be that you go for a signal booster and you can get one from.
